About Magi
Magi Kern is an artist/illustrator, graphic designer and web designer who always aspired to have a career in a creative field. In high school she was awarded with many art awards, including being chosen to participate in a year-long, small AP Art class hosted by the Memphis College of Art out of many portfolio submissions throughout the region. Initially she pursued a career in Architecture at Drexel University, but she later decided that she preferred a more artistic career path, finally landing a job as a graphic designer in an in-house graphic design department for a furniture catalog company, where she still works today.
Currently Magi lives in Glenside, Pennsylvania with her husband, a boston terrier named Gizmo (check out his blog here), four cats, her desk companion Alpha (a betta fish) and a fish tank full of other fish. She continues to create art on the side, often participating in Artist Trading Card swaps for fun, as well as educating herself in the necessary skills and techniques to stay on top in the ever-changing world of graphic design.
